Job Description
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Linux/Unix System Administrator with extensive in Unix Linux Administrator and design build and implement Linux/Unix OS images and Next Generation of UNIX/Linux servers the operating systems software and its successful integration with the hardware and applications software of the major computing systems across the organization. Plans tests installs and integrates new and upgraded versions of the relevant OS (Unix/Linux) systems.
Job Description
- Conducts system security engineering activities (Linux/Unix Focused). Install monitor and tune Linux/Unix Server operating system software and virtual machine subsystem software to obtain ATO (Authorize to Operate) for new image build.
- Capture and refine client requirements and ensures that the requirements are effectively integrated into information technology component products and information systems through purposeful design development and configuration.
- Employ best practices when implementing patch management / vulnerability management in the Linux construct.
- Perform research analysis and design for all Linux/Unix computing systems and the network infrastructure.
- Develop implement and document formal configuration guides as needed.
- Provide security controls and maintain necessary network/data separation
- Ensure that essential services are installed on supported versions of OS and keep the versions of the services themselves up to date.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Masters degree with 8 years of experience / Bachelors degree with 10 years of experience.
- Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain and maintain a CI poly.
- Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of thefollowing:SecurityCE CND SSCP GSEC GICSP CySA or CCNA Security
- 5 years experience with DoD systems
- Experience with DoD vulnerability analysis and Industry Best Business Practices
- Quick learner able to learn new software and technologies
- Must have strong experience with Linux/Unix
- Must have experience with Redhat Enterprise Linux (Physical and Virtual (VMware) Environment) or Solaris (Physical and Virtual (VMware) Environment)
- Must have strong Redhat Satellite Server and Ansible experience
- Experience in standing up new services and tools on virtual machines within a Linux environment.
- Experience with Gitlab Docker and repo mirrors.
- Experience with Python. PowerShell and Bash scripting.
- Familiarity with VMware ESXi and VSphere.
- Familiarity with virtualization network on multiple classifications
