The Kozel Lab focuses on understanding the vascular and connective tissue complications associated with genetic disorders particularly Williams Syndrome & elastin insufficiency. The labs human studies aim to investigate the molecular genetic & clinical features of these conditions to improve diagnosis management & treatment strategies. Research efforts include the collection & analysis of multiomics data (genomic transcriptomic and epigenomic) integrated with clinical phenotypes to elucidate the underlying mechanisms of disease. The lab also examines vascular stiffness cerebrovascular function & cardiac remodeling in patients with Williams Syndrome & related disorders.
