Job Description

You will be responsible for the planning and delivery of a continuous programme of painting and decorating within One YMCA to maintain and improve our property portfolio. You will also be expected to bring the skills and experience to deal with more basic jobs outside of your specialism such as general maintenance requests where required.

As a qualified Painter Decorator you will have the relevant training experience and trade skills to cover a wide range of indoor and outdoor painting decorating and repairs. To maintain and improve our places through a routine maintenance cycle alongside those caused by damage or other cause including responsive/emergency repair or renewal work. Ensuring that the repairs required are diagnosed correctly and works completed are to a high standard and quality.
This role also requires the monitoring and inspecting of works in progress including site audits.


You will be accountable for:
Delivering a service which understands the needs of our beneficiaries and delivers a positive outcome for them.
Being professional courteous empathetic adaptable selfmotivated take pride and ownership of your work able to resolve problems you encounter delivering a highquality repair and providing an excellent customer experience every time.
Adhering to all policies procedures regulatory requirements processes controls systems required training and record keeping. Ensuring that we operate in a safe customer centric environmentally ethical and accountable way. Meeting and/or exceeding performance targets understanding and mitigating risk.
Attending all required training toolbox talks one to ones and appraisals Embracing the opportunity for challenge personal growth and development. Engaging with other team members as required.
Ensuring that all charity owned property is properly maintained cared for respected and always remains fit for purpose.
Maximising your firsttime fix rate and daily productivity level. Delivering a high standard of workmanship quality and customer experience. You will ensure that van stocks are maintained and source other materials required in a timely fashion to meet the service needs & performance targets.
Liaising and communicating with managers supervisors schedulers other colleagues and customers whilst undertaking your duties to ensure we deliver on our promises and provide our customers with a firstclass repairs service.
On occasion provide guidance coaching training and management of apprentices who join the P&E team liaising with college placement tutors to ensure individuals have the exposure to the workplace experiences required.

Requirements:
Excellent knowledge of regular painting and decorating maintenance and repair with proven experience is diagnosing repairing and resolving issues
Good attention to detail and quality
NVQ Level 3 in painting and decorating
Extensive experience in a variety of painting and decorating techniques both internally and externally
Full clean driving licence is required for this position.

  • Family support through a network of childrens and family centres covering Hertfordshire and Bedford
  • Therapeutic and nontherapeutic support for male and female victims of domestic abuse and their children
  • Independent sexual violence services across Bedfordshire Luton and Hertfordshire
  • Domestic abuse perpetrator reform programmes across Bedfordshire
  • Youth services offering emotional wellbeing support and youth club opportunities for 1119 year olds alongside our National Airplay programme funded by the RAF Benevolent Fund
