ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Audible Content team works with worldclass creative talent across the Asia Pacific region to create groundbreaking multilanguage entertainment for local audiences in Australia Japan and India and for listeners of our global service at large.

The Director Originals APAC will lead the creation of Audibles slate of Original content across the region. The Director Originals APAC supports the review and assessment of Original Content opportunities against creative and strategic goals. The Director Originals APAC will recommend what is commissioned and the creative parameters of each Original project. They work in partnership with the APAC Content Programming Content Acquisitions Creative Development and Production teams as well as Audibles Legal and Finance teams.

This role is based in Audibles Sydney office and reports to the Head of Regional Content APAC.

As the Director Original APAC you will...
Lead a team of high performing producers providing mentorship as well as functional management across the team
Participate in the solicitation and discovery of new concepts and content/talent opportunities from external producers creators and talent
Develop and recommend a commissioning assessment standard for content opportunities ensuring that commissioned works demonstrate a distinct quality of storytelling and achieve business goals
Develop and implement a commissioning process that drives efficiencies in deal making and contracting in partnership with key APAC content stakeholders and external parties e.g. Creators
Collaborate on contract terms and budget development for commissioned works with crossfunctional Content stakeholders
Manage commissioning roadmaps setting expectations with all relevant stakeholders
In partnership with the APAC Content Programming team contribute to the Originals strategy leveraging data audience and trend research to better inform original content commissioning and decisionmaking
Participate in slate planning with APAC Content Programming team to ensure commissioned Audible Original titles work in sync with marketplace content slates against marketplace level goals
At times work as an Executive Producer across Audible Original formats and genres supporting all creative aspects involved in the creation of a title including reviewing submissions providing script editing suggestions providing recommendations on talent selection conducting post production audio reviews and other development support as required for both inhouse and 3rd party projects

Experience in creative development and commissioning roles for leading Entertainment services
Experience conducting audience segmentation and trend analysis
Experience managing a creatively driven team
Experience in development and production processes
Understanding of legal operational and financial aspects of commissioning
Experience building and maintaining professional networks in entertainment/creative sectors with particular roots in the Australian creator/talent community
Understanding of digital listening applications and innovative new audio platforms
Experience slate building across genres in entertainment including both scripted and nonscripted storytelling
Experience developing clear concise written communications for diverse audiences

A creative vision that is rooted in commercial entertainment audiences in APAC and passion for worldclass storytelling
Commissioning Editor for leading OTT service
Experience managing a robust multigenre slate
Experience working as an individual contributor in a matrixed organization
Understanding of journalism ethics
