Employment Type:Fulltime Work Schedule: 40 hours per week including hours on weekdays and weekends (overtime as needed) Annual Salary Range: $90000 $115000 This position is directly compensated for overtime hours. We are seeking a qualified professional to supervise maintenance personnel and activities at our mill in Golden B.C. In addition to having millwright experience the successful applicant will exhibit strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage their teams performance enforce safety procedures and contribute to positive team morale. Duties and Responsibilities: - Supervise a team of Millwrights Welders and Machinists and ensure a high quality of service is provided by your team
- Assist the Maintenance Superintendent with the planning scheduling and assignment of manpower to specific jobs within the mobile shop ensuring that all repairs/maintenance are performed in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company procedures and policies
- Conduct job briefings endofshift briefings safety activities and meetings
- Ensure that safety procedures and policies are strictly and consistently followed
- Support communicate and deliver services in accordance with key performance indicators
- Lead by example and ensure your direct reports have an understanding of business objectives as well as their individual responsibilities and role within the larger business framework
- Communicate and interact regularly with senior management to ensure machine center repairs and equipment are performed safely and efficiently
- Understanding of Inventory Management
- Maintain communication and foster positive working relationships with local union officials
- Ensure that you follow the collective agreement in supervising staff and assist them in understanding the collective agreement
- Maintain EAM Work Orders and ensure daily hours are accounted for
- Maintain EAM Task Lists for machines and build new EAM Task Lists as required
- Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve the productivity and efficiency of the mill
- Support Lean Manufacturing Principles
- Work with and guide employees to establish selfmanaged work teams and provide guidance and support to employees to bring about the vision of a capable empowered and engaged workforce
Required Education Certification and Experience: - Red Seal Industrial Mechanic/Millwright or Mechanical Engineer (Bachelors Degree) is required
- Previous supervisory experience is an asset
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities: - Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate with individuals both inside and outside of PWT
- Highly proficient with computers and Microsoft Office (including Outlook Teams Word Excel)
- Proficient with CMMS Programs EAM in particular
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Must have the ability to maintain a cooperative attitude strong team supervision quality assurance safety adherence and provide exemplary maintenance services to the mill
- Ability to work independently and carry assignments through to completion following the parameters that are provided as well as prescribed routines and standard accepted practices
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with WorkSafe BC requirements and Occupational Health and Safety Regulations
- Ability to maintain regular punctual attendance consistent with company standards
- Must be able to meet the physical fitness demands of the job and to lift/carry up to 60 lbs.
