The Processing B Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily cut floor operations to ensure maximum production efficiency quality and safety. This role requires a deep understanding of meat processing operations strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage production teams in a fast-paced environment.
The supervisor will act as the critical link between management and frontline employees ensuring company standards productivity targets and quality expectations are consistently met while fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & Quality Oversight
Review daily production orders to ensure customer requirements are met.
Ensure every production position is staffed before start-up.
Monitor equipment performance and ensure workstations pass USDA inspections.
Oversee accurate shipments inventory rotation and proper product coding.
Track and manage reworked or returned products.
Leadership & Team Management
Lead daily team exercises job rotations and ergonomics initiatives.
Promote safety culture through daily communication and monthly safety meetings.
Train coach and mentor team members to build a high-performing team.
Address employee relations issues including retention and counseling.
Operational Excellence
Partner with other supervisors to troubleshoot production issues.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote lean manufacturing practices.
Maintain accurate records and reports for production performance.
Other Duties
Participate in limited travel (1 5 trips per year).
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience in the meat processing industry (preferably pork or beef).
Proven success leading production teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Strong commitment and willingness to relocate to Waterloo IA.
Demonstrated ability to train develop and motivate employees under tight production schedules.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement (CI) practices.
Familiarity with plant floor tracking/reporting systems (e.g. SAP Kronos WMS).
Knowledge of pork processing operations and USDA regulations.
This position leads frontline production employees on the cut floor and serves as the bridge between plant management and production staff. Success in this role directly impacts our ability to meet production targets maintain quality and safety standards and support Client commitment to operational excellence.
