Job Description

SCOPE OF WORK: Administers the visual arts program through the development implementation evaluation and advancement of course curriculum and programs teaching effectiveness student advisement academic support systems and program promotion. This position reports to the VicePresident of Academic & Workforce Education at the NHTI.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Master degree in Fine Arts or related academic discipline.

Experience: Four years of professional experience in visual arts education or as a juried studio artist

License/Certification: Valid drivers license or access to transportation.

Recommended Work Traits: Through knowledge of teaching methods the use of instructional materials and the organization of effective teaching. Knowledge of educational standards and procedures. Ability to secure cooperation of administration to originate and implement new programs to improve existing programs and foster positive relationships in the department and throughout the college. Ability to maintain comprehensive records of the progress and development of the individual student. Ability to work effectively with educators and business and community people outside the college. Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and as a member of academic department/team. Ability to handle matters with diplomacy and to maintain confidentiality as appropriate. Ability to exercise professional judgment and proper decisionmaking. Must be willing to maintain an appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college.
