Job Description
The Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting is a key Finance Division leadership position and is responsible for providing assistance to the Corporate Controller and CFO in planning and directing the activities of the Finance Division with respect to financial reporting maintaining adequate internal controls compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements and accounting processes. The Director of Financial Reporting provides leadership support and oversight for all aspects of hospital and affiliate accounting and has primary responsibility for the annual financial audit. In addition this position supports administration and management of the hospital and identifies opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
Essential Job Functions:
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting. MBA and/or HFMA certification strongly desired.
At least 7 10 years relevant and progressive work experience in healthcare finance.
Ability to work independently and professionally with the organization.
Organizational and work planning skills to manage independent projects.
Analytical skills necessary to develop and execute a variety of financial and operational analysis.
Ability to communicate both oral and written complex technical issues in a clear concise manner to individuals in writing and to communicate ideas conclusions etc. orally to all levels of the Medical Center.
Problem solving skills to manage day to day challenges and develop and execute long term strategic goals.
Working knowledge of major ERP applications with extensive knowledge on financial reporting tools system upgrades and process improvements.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience using quantitative tools for idea generation and problemsolving. Experience using process mapping methods e.g. flowcharts workflow critical path analysis (e.g. Excel Visio Word PowerPoint).
Experience facilitating multidisciplinary teams. Able to motivate and methodically lead a team to problemsolve to achieve desired outcomes.
Ability to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality relating to patient health information (PHI) or Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Pay Range
$119600.00$197350.40 SalaryAt Lurie Childrens we are committed to competitive and fair compensation aligned with market rates and internal equity reflecting individual contributions experience and expertise. The pay range for this job indicates minimum and maximum targets for the position. Ranges are regularly reviewed to stay aligned with market conditions.In addition to base salary Lurie Childrens offer a comprehensive rewards package that may include differentials for some hourly employees leadership incentivesfor select roles health and retirement benefits and wellbeing programs.
