This role will focus on expanding our addressable footprint by building fiber networks in markets that are not currently served by the company. This person will be key in identifying evaluating and ranking new markets establishing and maintaining relationships with relevant external partners (i.e. municipalities city councils chambers of commerce industry associations etc. performing other due diligence tasks in potential markets as well as structuring and leading the modeling of strategic capital investments (i.e. public/private partnerships).

Responsibilities
Establish and maintain relationships with municipalities city councils chambers of commerce community and business leaders in current and future markets.
Partner with the regulatory department to identify evaluate and operationalize opportunities for government funding (federal state county and municipality level) or public/private partnerships.
Closely monitor competitors and other fiber overbuilders actions across the Midwest and have a detailed understanding of the industry market and product/service trends affecting competitiveness both short term and long term.
Develop implement and continuously improve a robust and comprehensive market selection model and process.
Identify evaluate and rank new markets based on demographics competition cost to pass strategic fit among other variables.
Lead crossfunctional teams in business development case analyses; work closely with sales finance accounting legal regulatory tax operations construction engineering HR and other departments to ensure that the models include all relevant assumptions.
Work closely with internal leaders and external partners before during and after the expansion processes to ensure investment/expansion makes strategic sense fits with the forwardlooking business plans and can be executed as planned.
Support the company in assessing the strategic financial and operational fit of potential M&A targets.
Maintain a deep understanding of and advise the business on industry trends and implications for business strategy.
Prepare and present findings proposals and ongoing updates to senior executives of the company.
Qualifications and Experience
10 years in business development market expansion sales or M&A roles.
MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred or similar academic/professional experience
Deep knowledge and understanding of Cable/Telecom industries
Track record of delivering value through business development new market expansion sales and/or M&A activities
Experience building new organizational capabilities
Strong financial analytical and valuation skills including the ability to develop a strategic perspective for target identification and evaluation
Experience working with construction sales engineering and operations
Demonstrated problemsolving /decisionmaking skills with the ability to understand and identify inorganic pathways to growth
Strong leadership skills and experience leading teams to execute all aspects of transactions including direct experience in negotiation and integration
Superior analytical and problemsolving skills with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
Ability to structure and manage complex crossenterprise projects and processes with multiple stakeholders at all levels
Ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to senior executives and external business partners
