About the role
National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for a Ranger to work as part of the Coffs Coast Area team and contribute towards the conservation of the natural environment flora fauna and Aboriginal heritage within the NPWS North Coast Branch.
As a Ranger you will provide effective management of natural historic and Aboriginal heritage by undertaking coordinating and supervising projects environmental assessments visitor and stakeholder liaison volunteer management and fieldbased activities including fire management and law enforcement.
Youll love the diversity flexibility and autonomy of this role. Your strong communication skills will assist you in tackling evolving priorities. Outdoor duties such as pest management fire management and project coordination will balance indoor work including planning development of reports and compilation of data.
Youll form invaluable professional relationships with Traditional Owners various agencies and stakeholders. Youll also create a positive safe diverse and inclusive culture. Together we achieve more.
About you
You are a proactive professional with a passion for conserving and managing natural historic and Aboriginal heritage. With experience in environmental assessments volunteer management bush regeneration and management project coordination and stakeholder engagement you make a meaningful impact on conservation and visitor experiences.
You are capable of leading fieldbased activities including bushfire management and law enforcement demonstrating sound judgment and a commitment to public safety and environmental protection. You thrive in dynamic environments balancing planning handson work and emergency response.
We encourage recent graduates with relevant experience in environmental management to apply and contribute to heritage conservation while developing their skills in this exciting field.
Essential requirements
This is a physically active role suited to candidates of all genders who are fit enjoy working outdoors as part of a team and are eager to learn and develop the skills and qualifications needed to contribute toward improving and maintaining some of NSWs most precious natural places. Applicants must meet the requirements of a specific medical assessment which is inclusive of a clearance to undertake the fitness test for firefighting fitness roles (i.e. moderate level TaskBased Assessment for Firefighters) within the 12month probationary period if relevant.
The role holder must obtain certification at the appropriate level prior to undertaking firefighting/incident control duties.
