Job Description

Owing to continued demand and our ambitious plans for growth Turner & Townsend are looking to recruit Estimators and Senior Estimators with proven experience across the Infrastructure (Rail Highways Power Marine Water or Utilities) sector.
This role will suit an Estimator from a Defence Nuclear Infrastructure or Construction background looking to build their experience and shape a career within the Defence infrastructure sector.
As an Estimator joining the Defence SE team you will find yourself supporting our clients to deliver a range of construction infrastructure projects and programmes across the North of the UK spanning from the Midlands Cumbria North East to Scotland with additional opportunities to work on projects across the rest of the UK. The team is made up of over 40 people with our central office is in Manchester however we have team members based all over the North of the UK such as but not limited to Nottingham Leeds Barrow and Glasgow.
This will be a consultancybased role working in a clientfocused environment where we are measured on working closely with clients while taking personal responsibility in dealing with clients and striving to go above their expectations. We anticipate you being on client sites or Turner & Townsend offices 60 of your time which could include travel but this may flex depending on client and business requirements. Turner & Townsend deliver a wide range of Estimating and Commercial Intelligence outputs for our clients to support their decision making including:
- Estimate Production (from Order of Magnitude estimates through to detailed estimates built up from first principles);
- Estimating Assurance;
- Estimating Support to Major Programme Set up;
- Data analysis and benchmarking
As an Estimator at Turner & Townsend you will be responsible for:
- Production of accurate and comprehensive estimates and cost plans for projects in a timely and efficient manner;
- Control and management of the estimating process at project level;
- Production of estimates without management or supervision;
- Assist with the gathering and sharing of estimating data
- Supporting development and promotion of estimating good practice within Turner & Townsend;
- Assisting in the achievement of departmental objectives;
- Staying abreast of developments within own technical area of expertise to be able to give best practice advice in line with business objectives.
Qualifications :
- Qualified to high standard in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with proven relevant experience;
- Relevant successful experience of provision of estimating and/or QS services in a large project environment;
- Previous experience of working with estimating software packages;
- Membership of a relevant professional body with chartered status or working towards;
- Desirable membership of RICS / CIOB /A. Cost E.
