Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain financial statements including balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reports in compliance with accounting standards and regulations (e.g. GAAP IFRS).
- Conduct monthly quarterly and annual financial close processes including journal entries account reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of regulatory and statutory reports such as SEC filings and tax returns.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audit processes and provide necessary documentation and explanations.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management for decisionmaking and strategic planning.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing historical financial data and trend analysis.
- Ensure compliance with SarbanesOxley (SOX) requirements and document internal control procedures.
Qualifications :
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CPA ACCA or CMA are preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and practices including GAAP and IFRS.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools (e.g. SAP Oracle QuickBooks).
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
- Strong understanding of internal controls and compliance requirements.
- Experience with financial modeling and data analysis.
- Ability to interpret and present financial information to nonfinancial stakeholders.
- Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements and tax regulations.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all financial reporting activities.
Additional Information :
Job Purpose:
The individual will be a key member of the Smiths Detection Global finance team. The role will join us at an exciting dynamic moment in the functions maturity and will be a part of the finance shared services centre (SSC) in India. This team is responsible to provide accounts payable related activities to different sections of the Global finance team. The team is functioning under a Centre of Excellence (CoE) model and this role is a handson delivery role and plays a key role within the Accounts payable area. The territories in scope will include Smiths Detection Entities which may expand to other entities in the longer run.
