Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and detailoriented Project Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will manage financial aspects of multiple projects ensuring accurate tracking reporting and compliance with budgetary guidelines. This role requires strong interpersonal and relationshipbuilding skills the ability to collaborate across departments and a knack for solving problems in a fastpaced projectdriven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and track financial performance of assigned projects against budgets and forecasts.
- Prepare and review project billing costs and revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP.
- Work closely with project managers to review budgets schedule updates and project changes.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies recommend corrective actions and maintain auditready documentation.
- Assist in monthly quarterly and yearend close processes related to project financials.
- Develop financial reports and dashboards for project stakeholders and leadership.
- Ensure all financial data and reporting aligns with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as a liaison between accounting project management and external clients as needed.
- Support contract review and financial compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
- CPA certification preferred.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field.
- Minimum of 35 years of relevant experience preferably in a project accounting or construction/engineering setting.
- Strong understanding of GAAP cost accounting and revenue recognition.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP Deltek Oracle) is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Demonstrated problemsolving skills and ability to analyze complex financial data.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
