Job Description
Overview
The Nurse Education Specialist functions in a pointofcare handson role as a nurse expert educator and consultant for assigned departments in the clinical development and education of nursing and other NAH team members. This position provides educational support for organizational safety and improvement initiatives. Nurse Education Specialist works in partnership with leadership to support onboarding staff development and promotion of practice excellence. The Nurse Education Specialist also functions to aid in preparation for regulatory and accreditation reviews.
Responsibilities
* Serves as a consultant for education requests within NAH
* Researches recommends and facilitates nursing specialty education for nurse residents nurse interns and/or any other program for new to specialty nurses
* Analyzes and validates educational needs and competencies
* Develops and initiates training programs that facilitate achievement of clinical care competency goals
* Participates in the development of standards of practice using the most current evidence
* Implements nursing education processes that enhance knowledge skills and attitudes for safe competent and effective nursing practice
* Evaluates practice in relation to standards guidelines statutes rules and regulations to achieve professional goals
* Utilizes experience and professional judgment to problem solve plan and accomplish goals
* Performs other related duties as assigned
* Completes mandatory training requirements
* Meets various agespecific needs
Qualifications
BSN within 3 years if hired prior to August 1st 2024 to be completed by July 1st 2027
BSN not required if you have a MSN
National nurse professional board certification or attainment within 1 year of hire
