About the Role:

Do you thrive in a fastpaced environment where you can dive into the details and keep things running smoothly Do you find satisfaction in processing a high volume of transactions accurately and efficiently If youre a detailoriented individual with a knack for numbers and a passion for keeping things organized PRT in Armstrong (Spallumcheen BC) has an exciting opportunity for you as a fulltime Junior Accounts Payable Clerk!

In this role youll be a key player in our finance team focusing on the essential daytoday operations of our Accounts Payable function. Youll get to roll up your sleeves and be responsible for tasks such as:

  • Backup support for all aspects of payment processing including but not limited to:
    • Generating payment proposals & recommending vendor payment prioritization
    • Processing cheque runs and electronic payment files
    • Acquiring necessary payment processing approvals
    • Bank batch processing
  • Contributing to pay run processes.
  • Performing 3way matching of purchase orders receiving documents and invoices to ensure accuracy.
  • Applying general ledger codes to invoices.
  • Collaborating with various business members to resolve inquiries and ensure smooth processes.
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations
  • Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statement reporting
  • Actively participate in financial and tax audits.
  • Complete end of month and yearend close procedures
  • Reception
  • Ordering Office Supplies
  • Perform other accounting tasks as needed

About the team:

The  Junior Accounts Payable Clerk will report to the Operations Accountant.

SALARY: $37128 (actual salary will be based on depth of experience)


Qualifications :

To excel in this role youll bring:

  • Completion of some postsecondary education in Accounting Finance or Business Admin. 
  • At least 1 year of experience in an office administration or Accounts Payable clerk role
  • Demonstrate understanding for basic accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
  • Ability to handle clerical and bookkeeping tasks.
  • Familiarity with purchase order processes and systems.
  • Exposure to Accounts Payable Finance or ERP systems showing your comfort with financial software.
  • A meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage a high volume of transactions.
  • Solid communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and internal stakeholders.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel.
