Responsibilities
Trim process embed and section tissue (paraffin and cryosections). Stain tissue with routine and special stains. Perform immunohistochemical staining and troubleshooting. Utilize light microscopy (brightfield widefield confocal) to obtain images for analysis. Prepare reagents and standards according to lab SOPs. Oversee maintenance & upkeep of laboratory equipment. Maintain complete and accurate logs containing methodological details. Maintain laboratory in a clean and safe fashion. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in biology neuroscience or related field required or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired. Previous lab experience with histology immunohistochemistry and microscopy experience highly desirable but not required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; must be able to collaborate effectively with others. Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills required. Strong organizational skills. Must be careful and detailoriented. Selfmotivated and able to work independently while effectively prioritizing tasks. Eagerness to learn new skills and approach challenges with enthusiasm. Flexibility to switch tasks when necessary to promote efficiency adjust to changing priorities and cope with technical challenges.
