Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Ability to speak read and understand the English language.
  2. Physically able to perform the assigned duties. Frequently required to lift up to at least 60 lbs. bend stoop and reach above shoulder level. Occasionally required to drive automatic equipment or vehicles and climb ladders stairs ramps and scaffolds.
  3. Continuously required to work with machinery walk and stand.
  4. Oneor more years of food production experience and/ or professional culinary training preferred. Including some supervision experience.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

260days

SALARY/PAYGRADE:

$15.98/NS4

Salary (based on verifiable jobrelated experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Direct department in the absence of the Food Production Lead.
  2. Assist in correcting problems with production products.
  3. Assist with maintaining inventory and rotation of products.
  4. Assist with training food production workers in the department. Including coaching and performance indicators per policy and department/district handbook.
  5. Attend the Sanitation Certification Class required by departmental guidelines. Comply with food handling procedures established by the Food Service Department and maintain sanitation standards at or above the level set by Food Service Director. (Refer to Food Service Handbook Appendix and training programs).
  6. Comply with safety standards established by the Food Service Department. Report jobrelated accidents and/or injuries to the immediate supervisor within 24 hours of the incident.
  7. Comply with appropriate operational procedures and safety standards in the use of all equipment.
  8. Participate in TASN classes to obtain certification of at least Level 1.
  9. Support the Food Service Department with regular and reliable attendance.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Production Manager and/or the Food Service Director.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Standing for prolonged periods; walking; carrying; pushing/pulling and lifting over 60 pounds. May be required to perform job tasks in extremely hot and cold areas of the Food Production Center.
