Job Description

The start date of this position will be July 1 2025. This is a 220 day contract.

Rate of Pay:TBD for theschool year. Currently $106411.36$123468.16 DOE

Insurance:Generous Health dental and vision contribution from the district currently up to $2179 (based upon family coverage) TBD for.

PERS Retirement:The district assumes and pays the 6 average employee contribution to the Oregon PERS system.

Retiree Benefits: An administrator who retires from KFCS and from PERS with at least ten consecutive years of experience as an administrator in the district immediately prior to retirement will receivethe following retirement benefits:

One percent 1 of the administrators final base salary per month for a total of eightfour 84 months.

AND

Medical insurance premiums for the administrator and spouse (if necessary) for a total of eightyfour 84 months. When an administrator retires the District will contribute up to the employee only cap orthe employeespouse cap. Should the district contribution be insufficient to pay for the monthly cost of the insurance then the parties agree that the excess insurance premium contribution will be made bythe retiree.

SUMMARY

KECDC is seeking a dedicated leader to serve as the Vice Principal of Early Learning. This individual will be responsible for the supervision of early learning programs including but not limited to Preschool Promise Early Intervention and Early Childhood Special Education. The role includes oversight of both licensed and classified staff and carries primary responsibility for implementing programs and services that support school districts children and families.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Is responsible for the design implementation evaluation improvement and reportingrequirements of programs or program strands which serve local district staff or students and families directly or which provide consulting services to partner agency staff who serve students directly.

  • Supervises and evaluates key members of these teaching and learning staff which mayinclude instructional coaches and special education staff; providing support opportunities coaching and guidance for professional growth and timely performance evaluation in a manner that promotes team development and effective work.
  • Expands learning opportunities for students in an ongoing effort to improve services andprograms offer instructional pathways based on best practices and maximize progress.
  • In consultation with supervisor staff advisory committees District Administrator Teamand/or superintendent determines program design and direction.
  • Works to create a collaborative and innovative culture for all students and staff acrossthe district and throughout the community.
  • Develops new projects and writes new grants as need and opportunity arise.
  • Serves as liaison to ODE and other external agencies.
  • Adheres to workplace expectations.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel to and from school locations in the KlamathCounty service area and may be required to travel on overnight assignments.
  • Other duties as assigned

CERTIFICATES LICENSES EXPERIENCE:

A Masters Degree Oregon teaching and administrative licenses or Authorization from the Oregon Department of Education as an Early Childhood Supervisor; 35 years of teaching experience. Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education (EI/ECSE) experience is preferred. Expert demonstration and knowledge in several or all areas of the position.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Mathematical Skills:
    • Ability to add subtract multiply and divide using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.
    • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest proportions and percentages.
    • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations.
    • Ability to create and interpret bar graphs pie charts and other representations of financial data.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral schedule or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in a variety of situations.
  • Consistently makes decisions and exercises independent judgment.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer usage and Google is required. Proficient knowledge ofExcel with the ability to learn complex formulas and pivot tables; ability to learn accounting software and various programs as needed.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality. Ability to work in an environment with constant interruptions.
  • Required to demonstrate the ability to consistently work independently.
  • Certificates as determined by the District including a valid Oregon Drivers License if required.
