Position Overview:
The Principal-in-Residence (PIR) is designed for individuals preparing to take on the role of a school principal. This role provides extensive training and hands-on experience in all facets of school leadership including strategic planning community engagement staff management and curriculum oversight.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement a strategic plan for the school that aligns with KIPP KCs mission and educational goals.
Lead the schools administrative and educational team setting high standards for staff performance and student achievement.
Curriculum and Instruction Oversight:
Oversee the development and execution of the schools curriculum and instructional practices to ensure they meet the needs of all students.
Ensure that the schools educational standards are met by regularly evaluating the effectiveness of the curriculum and instruction methods.
Community and Stakeholder Engagement:
Act as the main point of contact between the school and external stakeholders including parents community members and educational partners.
Develop partnerships that support educational programs and enhance student learning opportunities.
Staff Development and Leadership:
Manage evaluate and develop a team of administrators and teachers to build a reflective collaborative and dynamic educational environment.
Promote professional growth opportunities for staff through coaching mentoring and leading professional development initiatives.
Qualifications :
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Education Administration or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
At least 1- 3 years of experience in educational leadership roles such as Assistant Principal Dean or Instructional Leader.
Proven track record of successful school management and demonstrable improvements in student performance.
Skills and Competencies:
Visionary leadership with a strong ethical and moral grounding.
Excellent organizational communication and public speaking skills.
Proficient in data analysis budget management and resource allocation.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
Additional Information :
Compensation
Salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience. Starting salary for certified administrators is $80000. Additionally KIPP KC offers a comprehensive benefits package including health coverage and retirement.
Start Date: ASAP. All hired candidates must complete the background and fingerprint process and attend orientation.
