To:All Teaching and Administrative PersonnelBrockton Public SchoolsFrom:Dr. Kathleen MoranAssistant Superintendent of Human ResourcesSubject:Brockton High School ESL Steering Committee 7 participants) Dates:Up to 15 hours meeting dates to be determined collectivelyLocation:High SchoolQUALIFICATIONS: teaching ESL to English learners at the high school in English as a second language by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education background in English as a second language curriculum development and instruction for English learners at a variety of proficiency of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks for ELA and the WIDA 2020 AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1Review Current Curriculum: Analyze the existing scope sequence and pacing guides for iLit and English 3D noting areas for improvement based on teacher and student feedback. 2Identify Student Needs and Standards: Use data on student performance and language standards (WIDA state standards) to determine the required progression in language forms features and content standards.3Customize Scope and Sequence: Adjust the curriculums scope and sequence to create a coherent progression that supports targeted skill development aligned with identified standards and student needs. 4Revise Pacing Guide: Develop a pacing guide that reflects the customized scope and sequence allowing adequate time for mastery and flexible pacing based on student proficiency :According to ContractFund Code to be Charged:Title 2
