Job Description

Academic Monitor - Lindbergh High School

  • Full-time position;7 hours/day;35 hours/week
  • Schedule: Monday-Fridayto follow 2025-2026 Student Calendar
  • Hourly Rate: $22.81
  • Substitute Certification Required; Missouri Teacher Certification Preferred
  • Non-exempt
  • Benefits not included

Summary: The Academic Monitor is a key support role within the high schools Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) team. This position is dedicated to promoting academic success and supporting the transition of at-risk 9th grade students from middle school into high school. The Academic Monitor provides direct support in the areas of organization time management and homework completion. In collaboration with the counseling office and other student services this role helps identify and coordinate appropriate academic interventions and supports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted academic support for 9th grade students identified as at-risk focusing on organization time management goal setting and assignment completion.
  • Collaborate with the MTSS team to review data and identify students in need of academic or behavioral interventions.
  • Support the monitoring and implementation of 504 plans for 9th grade students working in coordination with case managers and counselors.
  • Partner with the counseling office to assess additional academic and social-emotional needs and recommend available interventions or resources.
  • Lead and manage the Teacher Academic Monitor Program for grades 1012 by:

    • Matching identified students with teacher mentors for academic support.
    • Monitoring the effectiveness of the program and collecting feedback to support continuous improvement.
    • Serving as the primary point of contact for teacher mentors and assisting with training tools and check-ins.
  • Track student progress maintain documentation and communicate with staff and families as needed.
