The office consists of nearly 30 distinct sections that advocate for consumers and victims of crime assist the criminal justice community provide legal counsel for state offices and agencies and enforce certain state laws. In these and other capacities staff members interact with tens of thousands of Ohioans each year.

The Education Section represents public colleges and universities as well as the Ohio Department ofEducation andState Board of Education. Duties include handling federal and statelitigation and administrative hearings on behalf of the public colleges and universities theOhio Department of EducationandState Board of Education as well as providing general counsel to Boards of Trustees Presidents and other officers andadministrators at public colleges and universities on a variety of legal issues including but not limited to:student affairscollege governance policy employment issues health care transactional matters public relations publicrecords and open meetings and administrative procedures. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 7 yearsof experience working as an attorney and have experience in Federal Court.Thisposition will work a hybrid inperson/remote schedule. There may be changes to this schedule based on training and operational needs. The headquarter location is our Columbus Ohio office.
