About You
The Director Data & Analytics Strategy & Innovation plays a pivotal role across the institution in developing and advancing innovations across the University to enhance teaching research and administrative processes and outcomes. This role focuses on strategy and innovations in the area of data analytics and AI and will involve incubating innovation ideas from across the university creating experiments using AI technologies and scaling successful prototypes into solutions that can be deployed across the university.
This role will require strong networks to be developed with university stakeholders and process owners including information technology services who will be a key partner in deploying solutions. In addition the role will involve strong collaborations to be forged with existing and emerging technology and solution partners to stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies.
To be successful in this position youll have:
8 years leadership experience in High Education and deep knowledge of HE and VE key processes and data
Experience in developing and executing forward thinking AI and innovation strategies
Advanced knowledge of AI machine learning and analytics
Strong relationship building skills with industry partners internal stakeholders and researchers
Experience and commitment to responsible AI practices
Ability to oversee AI projects throughout the lifecycle from conception through to deployment
Strong demonstrated success in collaboration with stakeholders and vendors delivering complex solutions

About the Group
Office of the Chief Data & Analytics Officer supports and enables RMITs business strategy by leading and driving the data and analytics agenda for the enterprise. This involves being accountable and responsible for:
Developing and implementing RMITs data and analytics strategy and ensuring ongoing alignment with university
Defining requirements and standards for data and analytics technologies to be delivered by Information Technology
Coordinating and governing data management activities for analytics and reporting
Developing and coordinating advanced analytics capabilities to resolve key university challenges
