Job Description
We are looking for a Software Architect or Senior Software Architect to join our Cloud Engineering team. This work primarily involves collaborating with our engineering teams to design solutions for our IFS Cloud service together with the automation of their deployment.
Designs will consider but not be limited to the following usability scalability highavailability maintainability security and performance. This approach will ensure robust and consistent architectural design.
A software architect at IFS learns and applies successful strategies implements improvements to engineering methodologies and practices across the product portfolio. A software architect actively engages with peers and team members to drive the spread of technical skills and knowledge throughout the IFS community. In addition a software architect at IFS continuously expands their functional and technical domain knowledge which includes keeping up to date on technical industry trends.
What is the role
- Build nurture and grow high performance engineering teams using Agile Engineering principles.
- Provide technical leadership for design and development of software meeting functional & nonfunctional requirements.
- Provide multihorizon technology thinking to broad portfolios and platforms in line with desired business needs.
- Adopt a handson approach to develop the architecture runway for teams.
- Set technical agenda closely with the Product and Program Managers
- Ensure maintainability security and performance in software components developed using wellestablished engineering/architectural principles.
- Ensure software quality complying with shift left quality principles.
- Conduct peer reviews & provide feedback ensuring quality standards.
- Engage with requirement owners and liaise with other stakeholders.
- Contribute to improvements in IFS products & services.
Qualifications :

Its your excellent influencing and communication skills that will really make the difference. Entrepreneurship and resilience will be required to help drive and shape the technology strategy. You will need technical operational and commercial breadth to deliver a strategic technical vision alongside a robust secure and costeffective delivery platform and operational model.
- Seasoned Leader with 10 years of handson experience in Design Development and Implementation of scalable cloudbased web and mobile applications.
- Have strong software architectural technical design and programming skills.
- Experience in Application Security Scalability and Performance.
- Ability to envision the big picture and work on details.
- Can articulate technology vision and delivery strategy in a way that is understandable to technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to different technologies/work environments.
- Knowledge of and skilled in various tools languages frameworks and cloud technologies with the ability to be handson where needed:
- CI/CD tools GitLab Circle CI GitHub Jenkins Tekton
- Kubernetes and Docker containerization
- Infra as Code / Config. Mgmt (terraform ansible)
- Scripting (Bash PowerShell Python GoLang)
- Working with cloudbased infrastructure in Azure AWS or GCP
- Databases Oracle Mongo DB Cassandra PostgreSQL etc.
- Good to have:
- Exposure to ERP application development is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and multitasking skills along with an innovative mindset.
