Director of Skilled Programming activities

Plan develop and implement resident lifestyle programming within the community as well as through outside trips and events. 
Monitor documentation system to ensure that all regulatory timeframe for review of assessments and service plans are met and that residents needs are met. Write and review residents program assessments/evaluations and careplans with appropriate team members.
Survey and interview residents to determine their past and present interests and talents as well as their satisfaction with the communitys programs and activities.
Recognize the individuality diversity and spirituality of all residents when planning activities and celebrating holiday functions.
Develop relationships with residents to encourage their participation in activities that enhance their quality of and appreciation for life.
Observe residents function and behavior and report significant changes or concern to appropriate staff.
Perform work tasks in a manner that preserves each residents dignity privacy and confidentiality.
Utilize outside community resources and independent contractors to enrich the variety of programs made available to residents.
Develop and manage the annual department budget
Document and maintain all records as required to effectively manage the department. Secure and maintain all department supplies and equipment.
Develop and distribute the resident newsletter/calendar and other lifestyle programming communications on a regular and monthly basis conforming to Senior Lifestyle Standards. 
Coordinate outings and weekly transportation schedule with the transportation department. In consultation with the Executive Director hire train discipline and terminate departmental program employees in accordance with Senior Lifestyle Corporation Human Resources Policy.
Coach and counsel department program employees in accordance with Senior Lifestyle human resources policies.
Work cooperatively with all other departments in planning shared events.
Coordinate volunteers including their recruitment and training.
Maintain an inviting functional and organized program area including appropriate and seasonal decoration of display areas.
Carry out all responsibilities to residents families and coworkers in a friendly courteous and professional manner.
Participate in the Manager on Duty program. Attend all required training inservice and team members meetings.
Ensure that all company uniform and grooming standards for the department are followed.
Strive to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents the preservation of equipment and the achievement of safe working practices.
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents visitors families and  coworkers. 
Adhere to all policies and procedures of Senior Lifestyle Corporation.
Maintain knowledge of Alzheimers/dementia topics and continue knowledge of programming education.
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications :

Level of Formal Education: A Bachelors degree from a fouryear college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Special Certifications: National Certification Council for Activity Professionals and/or Certified Therapeutic Reaction Specialist
Language Skills: Acceptable fluency in English in order to perform job duties and speak read write and communicate with all others.
Technical Competencies: Proficiency using Microsoft word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook
Skills and Ability: N/A Strong organization and time management skills as well as the ability to manage multiple projects.
Personal Attributes: Willingness to work hard enthusiastic
