Get to Know the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer specializing in Java to join our engineering team in Jakarta Indonesia. As a key member of our engineering department you will be responsible for designing developing and maintaining robust backend systems that power our cuttingedge applications. You will be reporting to an Engineering Manager. This is an onsite role based in Jakarta.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- Architect and implement scalable highperformance backend services using Java and related technologies
- Design and develop RESTful APIs to support frontend applications and thirdparty integrations
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to define design and ship new features
- Optimize application performance and improve system efficiency
- Implement and maintain database schemas ensuring data integrity and security
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of our development practices
- Troubleshoot debug and resolve complex software issues
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to the teams technical growth
- Stay uptodate with emerging trends and technologies in backend development
Qualifications :
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field
- 5 years of experience in backend development using Java
- Strong proficiency in Java programming and related frameworks (e.g. Spring Boot Hibernate)
- Extensive experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs
- Solid understanding of database systems (e.g. MySQL PostgreSQL) and SQL
- Proficiency in working with version control systems preferably Git
- Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems
- Excellent debugging and troubleshooting abilities
- Proficiency in writing unit tests and ensuring code quality
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS Azure or GCP
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g. Docker Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience with performance tuning and optimization of Java applications
