About the opportunity
The Community Engagement Worker supports the delivery of the Suicide Prevention Community Action Plan (SPCAP) across the Townsville region using a collective impact approach. This role focuses on raising awareness of suicide prevention supporting community engagement activities and promoting access to mental health services.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with the SPCAP team and Community Development Coordinator
Engage local community members and gatekeepers to raise awareness of suicide prevention
Promote and share information on available suicide prevention training and resources
Manage and update the regions SPCAP website and social media channels
Assist in planning and delivering SPCAP events community forums and workshops
Support referral pathways by connecting atrisk individuals with appropriate services
Collect analyse and report data and feedback from community engagement activities
