Summary of Job Duties:

The Professor of Finance 9 Month) position is responsible for
teaching in the finance curriculum at the undergraduate and graduate level. The university
expects instructional excellence and scholarly output appropriate for a school with AACSB
accreditation of its undergraduate and MBA programs. This position is governed by state and
federal laws as well as agency and institution policy.


Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Ph.D. in Finance or related field;
  • Research record commensurate to be tenured as a full professor.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Teaching experience and research in investments or related areas;
  • Record of engagement with industry practitioners such as portfolio/fund managers CFA groups etc.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve on University College and Department committees;
  • Teach required courses per semester (fall and spring) of which 2 to 3 may be different courses; classes take place in the mornings at night 1 night/week) and/or online;
  • During the summers (subject to funding departments needs and availability) all fulltime faculty members including Instructors may teach an additional two courses for 15 of their 9month salary over 5 weeks;
  • Perform research leading to publication in national journals in the areas of instruction such publications will be considered in yearly evaluations;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Committed to students success as indicated by prior teaching experience;
  • Ability to mentor and supervise employees;
  • Committed to remaining current in the area of expertise and/or instruction;
  • Demonstrated teaching ability.
