This is a remote position.
We re looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Virtual Assistant Accounting Specialist to support Canadian tax filings bookkeeping and day-to-day financial operations.
Accounting & Tax Compliance
Maintain accurate bookkeeping and general ledger entries
Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
Process payroll and employee compensation records
Create invoices and record payments in Xero
Conduct billing review and resolve discrepancies
Track and categorize business expenses
Compile financial data for HST/GST corporate and personal tax returns
Prepare and audit financial statements and reports
Ensure all documentation complies with Canadian tax regulations
Administrative & Operational Support
Organize and manage digital financial and project files
Assist with travel bookings and itinerary coordination
Provide documentation support and note-taking for meetings
Track employee attendance and update scheduling logs
Help maintain and monitor employee benefits records
Experience supporting Canadian entrepreneurs or small business owners
Familiarity with CRA systems and e-filing platforms
Background in compiling documentation for personal tax submissions
