Position Summary:
The Patient Services Worker plays a vital role in ensuring highquality food service in healthcare settings by accurately managing patient diet orders and acting as a key point of communication between patients the Food and Nutrition Services Department and Nursing Services.
Key Responsibilities:

Accurately receive and interpret patient diet orders.

Coordinate patient meal selections according to prescribed diets and individual preferences.

Communicate effectively with nursing staff and dietitians to ensure patient dietary needs are met.

Deliver meals and provide assistance with tray setup as needed.

Respond promptly and professionally to patient inquiries or concerns.

Ensure compliance with food safety sanitation and infection control standards.

Maintain documentation and follow departmental procedures.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required.

Previous experience in healthcare food service or nutrition support is preferred.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Ability to interpret diet orders and understand basic nutrition principles.

Compassionate detailoriented and teamfocused.

Able to work in a hospital or longterm care environment including direct patient interaction.
