JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Office of Technology Transfer (OTT) within the Office of the Senior Vice President for Research at the Pennsylvania State University is seeking to fill three 3 vacancies for the role of Licensing Associate.
This position will primarily assist with portfolio management within the principal areas of Life Sciences Physical Sciences/Engineering and Agricultural Sciences. This position will be located in State College PA and will report to the Assistant Director of Technology Licensing.

Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of this position include the following but are not limited to the following:
- Portfolio Management either within the Agricultural Sciences Life Sciences or Physical Sciences/Engineering field which includes providing clarity and outreach to new inventors and triage of new disclosures
- Implementing Patent Strategy to include timeliness of filing and managing the initiation of the patent application process from filing a provisional patent application through the expiration or abandonment of an issued patent.
- Liaison with innovators patent attorneys and licensees on patent strategy matters
- Assist or implement marketing intellectual property (IP) to identify opportunities for commercial research and development partnerships and/or licensing.
- Assist throughout the negotiation and process of our license agreements
- Assist in or identify opportunities to increase OTTs success in reaching our goals
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience: This job will be filled at an Intermediate Professional position. The minimum requirements are Bachelors degree or higher in a technical field (such as Life Sciences Physical Sciences or Engineering) and 1 years of relevant experience.
The successful candidate(s) will have excellent time management skills and abilities to conduct multiple projects and easily prioritize in a dynamic environment excellent judgment and soft skills to interface with esteemed faculty members senior business contacts and investors and a high level of dexterity to understand a diverse range of technologies arising from the Universitys $1.3 billion annual research base. A high interest and open mind to learn legal skills to manage a portfolio and to educate guide and make recommendations to the respective inventor(s) in achieving milestones is required.

The salary range for this position including all possible grades is:
