Details of Research Project:
The Palacios Laboratory is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join a dynamic collaborative research team working on identifying and characterizing critical virushost interactions to support broadspectrum antiviral development. This initiative focuses on mapping interactions essential for viral life cycles aiming to understand and inhibit viral entry replication immune evasion and release.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Experimental Design & Implementation
- Conduct multiomics analyses including quantitative proteomics to characterize virushost protein interactions and study host factors involved in key viral processes.
- Perform virological assays under BSL2 and BSL3 conditions managing studies with viral species relevant to pandemic potential.
2. Data Analysis & Integration
- Integrate multiomics datasets (e.g. proteomics transcriptomics) to map essential virushost interactions.
- Collaborate with computational biology teams to support AI/MLdriven analyses for identifying critical viral and host targets.
3. Project Management & Collaboration
- Work closely with teams at ISMMS and partnering institutions coordinating experiments sharing data and aligning research efforts.
- Participate in crossfunctional meetings to report progress address challenges and contribute to strategy discussions.
4. Publication & Presentation
- Prepare and publish research findings in highimpact scientific journals.
- Present research at conferences and review meetings highlighting advancements in hostpathogen interaction research and antiviral discovery.

Qualifications
Educational and other Requirements for the position:
- PhD in Virology Immunology Microbiology or a related field.
- Expertise in virology with handson experience in viral culture and hostpathogen interaction studies.
- Proficiency in multiomics techniques including proteomics and transcriptomics with data analysis experience.
- Familiarity with BSL2 and BSL3 laboratory practices.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
