Clinical Specialist Hand Therapy (Bank)
Huddersfield Private Hospital
Bank Shifts
Salary: Up to 25.00 per hour (depending on level of experience training and qualification)
We have an opportunity for an Clinical Specialist to join their team of staff in thePhysiotherapy department.
This is a bank role working on an as and when required basis you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.
Duties of this role include:
- Undertake specialist assessment and treatment of patients with complex hand injuries postsurgical conditions fractures and chronic upper limb dysfunctions.
- Develop and implement highly specialised treatment plans including splinting scar management exercise programmes and functional rehabilitation.
- Lead the hand therapy service acting as the key clinical expert within the physiotherapy and occupational therapy teams.
- Work closely with orthopaedic consultants plastic surgeons nurses and other allied health professionals to deliver coordinated and effective care.
- Support the development of hand therapy competencies and assist in the upskilling of the wider team.
- Support compliance with CSP HCPC and local policies relating to safety safeguarding and patient experience.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- HCPCregistered Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist.
- Extensive postregistration experience in musculoskeletal or upper limb rehabilitation.
- Proven expertise in hand therapy including splinting postsurgical care and conservative management.
- Excellent clinical reasoning communication and teaching skills.
- Experience leading or developing specialist services.
