About The Position
The Technical Officer reporting to the Technical Coordinator will oversee the daytoday operations of the Haematology and other STEM laboratories ensuring efficient functioning of class setups and adherence to OHS standards. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) maintaining and demonstrating laboratory equipment preparation of and provision of class materials and reagents providing technical support to staff and students and developing key documentation such as SOPs SWIs training materials and equipment risk assessments.
The role also involves offering advice training and resources to laboratory users all while delivering clientfocused professional service.
To be successful in this position youll have:
1. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Haematology and Transfusion Science. Experience in a teaching laboratory setting would be desirable.
experience safely operating and maintaining laboratorybased instruments and equipment relevant to Haematology laboratories.
3. Proven track record of building strong relationships with a range of stakeholders including understanding and embracing a client focused framework.
4. Demonstrated understanding of current OH&S legislation with knowledge of other field or industry regulations or standards related to the field within the scope of the service area.
5. Effective communication time management and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in crossfunctional teams and with a diverse range of people from various backgrounds.
Preferred:Tertiary qualifications in Haematology or a related discipline and/or relevant experience.
