The INM research group Bioprogrammable Materials is looking for an enthusiastic Doctoral Researcher (f/m/d) with experience in culturing microalgae or cyanobacteria. We combine synthetic biology and biomaterials to develop smart platforms for therapeutics and sensing applications in the form of Engineered Living Materials (ELMs). We are seeking to fill a 3year funded Doctoral Researcher position for a project involving the development of coculture ELMs containing symbiotic phytoplankton and lactobacilli for sustainable biotech.

We are seeking a person with a degree in biotechnology biochemistry microbiology or related fields with practical experience in culturing microalgae or cyanobacteria and basic bacterial genetic engineering. The candidate will be part of an international multidisciplinary team in which English is the primary language of communication and reporting. Since we work on applicationoriented research candidates with entrepreneurial interests are appreciated.
