JOB SUMMARY
Under the guidance of the Program Coordinator the Language Instructor plans and implements daily cultural and languagebased activities assists with the care of the children delivery of daily programming and operations of the facility for the Aboriginal Head Start Program.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must be/have:
- Grade 12 Diploma
- A minimum of two years experience preferably in the Early Childhood field or in an education environment
- Aboriginal Language Instructor/Early Childhood certificate or diploma
- Strong oral communication skills including the ability to listen actively respond verbally in a manner that is clear and respectful
- Strong written communication skills including the ability to learn material
- Ability to work on a number of tasks simultaneously while prioritizing accordingly
- Ability to demonstrate selfmanagement and maintain composure consistency and patience in stressful situations
- Must have an UptoDate immunization in accordance with the NWT Immunization Schedule an acceptable Tuberculosis Screening test and provide proof of this prior to start date
- Must provide a satisfactory RCMP criminal records check including a vulnerable sector search prior to hire
