TheGeorgia Department of Public Health (DPH) is the states lead agency for disease prevention health promotion and disaster response. It is led by the Public Health Commissioner a physician appointed by the Governor. DPH focuses on key areas such as disease prevention womens and childrens health infectious diseases environmental health epidemiology emergency response EMS pharmacy nursing low THC oil regulation vital records and public health laboratories.
DPH is seeking to hire four District Health Directors with one position available in each of the following locations: Macon Jonesboro Lawrenceville and LaGrange Georgia.
District Health Directors provide leadership management and strategic direction for public health programs and services within their designated district. This role oversees their respective public health departments ensuring effective administration budgeting personnel management and program development. District Health Directors lead strategic planning monitor community health needs and collaborate with local partners to enhance public health initiatives. Additionally they provide oversight for financial management human resources emergency preparedness and performance management to ensure highquality responsive public health services.

The minimum base state salary for this position is $208000. Desired Qualifications
Applicants must meet one of the following qualifications:
NonPhysician: Masters (MPH) or higher (DrPH PhD) in public health or a related field plus two years of managementlevel experience in public health or healthcare.
Physician: Medical degree with a valid Georgia medical license (or eligibility) and two years of experience in public health preventive or private medicine.Preference will be given to applicants who in addition to meeting the entry qualifications have:
Master of Public Health and 3 5 years of senior level management experience.
Knowledge of the core functions of public health.
Experience in the development management and/or the administration of budgets contracts or grants.
Experience in strategic planning (e.g. mission identification goals planning and evaluation) and health planning.
Experience in human resources/personnel management.
Knowledge in emergency preparedness and response planning.
