Are you an innovative and accomplished professional seeking for a role with a significant impact and growth Amazon is looking for a dynamic Software Development Engineer to join our Core Services team under Worldwide Customer purchase Journey.
The Shipping and Region Authority (SARA) organization innovates on foundational products that shape the customer shopping journey beginning from the gateway page of their visit through search and discovery experiences. SARAs products also help drive checkout and fulfillment customer experiences. Through a complex orchestration of its four domains (Shipping Regions Locations Restrictions) SARA influences and frames the shopping CX. Our systems are architected for scale and consistency offering configurable flexible and global solutions (standardized globally but customized for local regulations). We integrate with multiple cross technology and functional services to identify customer locations identify the shipping options and apply sales and shipping restrictions.
In this role you will scope complex projects and deliver simple elegant solutions by collecting product and business requirements driving the development schedule from design to release making appropriate tradeoffs to optimize timetomarket and clearly communicating goals roles responsibilities and desired outcomes to internal crossfunctional teams. You will interact with a broad crosssection of the Amazon organization clarify ambiguous issues and negotiate effective technical solutions between development and business teams. You will anticipate bottlenecks and escalate issues when required to ensure ontime delivery. This role requires a seasoned individual with excellent experience as a Technical Program Manager for distributed SOA software systems and the ability to guide highlevel technical design while considering potential future areas of fraud our platform might encounter.
Your responsibilities will include:
Build project plans by working backwards set milestones establish mechanisms and bring the right people together to solve technical problems and ensure successful delivery.
Coordinate with leaders and stakeholders in multiple teams across Tech Business and Operations to drive datadriven decisions and alignment to achieve the program goals.
Dive deep into technical blockers and work with development teams to unblock delivery or find a path to resolution.
Create technical design documents influence technical priorities and apply project management best practices to increase the effectiveness and impact of your programs.
Identify blind spots look around corners to identify improvement opportunities and provide the technical glue between multiple teams/orgs and in areas that do not have clear lines of ownership.
Understand the architecture of the systems you work with (e.g. workflows APIs design limitations and maintenance requirements).
Communicate ideas effectively both verbally and in writing to all types of audiences including Directors and VPs. This includes writing emails documents and hotly debated topics for senior leaders.
Lead the resolution of contentious issues drive escalations identify and mitigate risks for project delivery and ensure regular status reporting.
This is a role for someone who wants to influence across organizations work on highprofile highimpact initiatives that impact Amazons bottom line.
7 years of working directly with engineering teams experience
5 years of technical product or program management experience
3 years of software development experience
5 years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
Experience managing programs across cross functional teams building processes and coordinating release schedules
5 years of project management disciplines including scope schedule budget quality along with risk and critical path management experience
Experience managing projects across cross functional teams building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
Experience defining KPIs/SLAs used to drive multimillion dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
