Job Title: Interim Dean of Faculty 202526 School Year

Reports to: Head of School

Status: Full Time; Exempt

Direct Reports: Department Chairs & Faculty Dean of College Counseling

This is an interim position for the 202526 school year. Although the role is currently set for one year a formal search will be conducted to fill the position permanently. The individual serving in the interim role will be considered as a candidate should they express interest.

The Dean of Faculty is responsible for fostering faculty wellbeing professional development and instructional growth across all departments. This role encompasses hiring supervising evaluating and retaining faculty while actively supporting their professional growth. Working closely with the Head of School the Dean of Teaching and Learning the Dean of Equity Inclusion and Belonging and the Director of HR this individual plays a key role in shaping faculty experiences. Additionally the Dean of Faculty will colead the School Life Committee and may teach one class throughout the year. In partnership with department chairs and the Director of HR the Dean leads faculty recruitment assessment and retention efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity equity inclusion and belonging
  • Masters degree in education or related experience
  • At least five years of experience as a classroom teacher with experience in the development and administration of curriculum
  • Models encouragement and compassion through interactions with all members of the community
  • Demonstrates a passion for the craft and profession of teaching as well as for coaching teachers
  • Possesses highly effective communication skills and strong cultural competencies
  • Has significant experience with diverse pedagogies and educational technologies in service to a diverse student body
  • Leadership skills with strength in leading teams and creating a collaborative environment
  • Values collegial collaboration feedback and selfreflection as a means to improve the institution
