Job Description
Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) is one of the largest school divisions in Alberta serving the educational needs of approximately 17950 students in 42 schools. EIPS is recruiting a parttime French Immersion Kindergarten Teacher at Ardrossan Elementary.
Ardrossan Elementary serves approximately 610 students in kindergarten to Grade 6 with 39 teaching staff and 13 support staff. The school is located in Ardrossan AB approximately 10 minutes east of Sherwood Park AB.
Ardrossan Elementary is a dualtrack school offering an English program and a French Immersion program both known for their strong emphasis on academics and leadership. Ardrossan Elementary community believes all students can succeed in our respectful safe and caring learning environment. Ardrossan Elementary is also a designated Play and Learn at School (PALS) prekindergarten site within the Division.

KinderQuest is an allinclusive early intervention program supporting childrenfrom 5 to 7 years of age who are experiencing severe delays in communication and regulation in a smaller classroom group setting. KinderQuest aims to have students participate in classroom activities that support their Instructional Support Plan (ISP). Teachers and Educational Assistants work as a part of an interdisciplinary team to ensure each students success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education degree
- Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Effective organization and classroom management skills
- Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe supported and challenged
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Experience or familiarity with analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
- Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice
- Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training
