Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: Reports to and works under the direction and supervision of the Executive Director of Data Analytics & Insights

The Community Research Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of all research studies that take place within the Six Nations of the Grand River territory. Expectations are to support the Executive Director of Data Analytics & Insights the Six Nations Research Ethics Committee and the SNGR Executive Leadership Team in the development of organizationwide research priorities proposals overseeing and supporting research activities and working with and identifying research investigators to carry out aspects of communitydriven research priorities.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

Reports to and works under the direction and supervision of the Executive Director of Data Analytics & Insights.

PURPOSE & SCOPE OF THE POSITION:

The Community Research Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of all research studies that take place within the Six Nations of the Grand River territory. Expectations are to support the Executive Director of Data Analytics & Insights the Six Nations Research Ethics Committee and the SNGR Executive Leadership Team in the development of organizationwide research priorities proposals overseeing and supporting research activities and working with and identifying research investigators to carry out aspects of communitydriven research priorities.

In addition this role will support Data Analytics & Insights and the Six Nations Research Ethics Committee in the development and implementation of the research goals and objectives of the organization while working within the policies set for this type of work. This role will also be responsible for compiling data for the Executive Director of Data Analytics & Insights to understand the research data environment we currently have available to the community and how this can help the organization plan for approving and supporting future research projects. Finally this role will also obtain community feedback to develop a research strategy for the Six Nations of the Grand River community.

With the Executive Director of Data Analytics & Insights

Receives direction guidance encouragement; discusses plans and priorities regarding the coordination of research studies for the organization and ensuring we have the appropriate data on hand to make evidenceinformed decisions;

With the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the Executive Leadership Team

Receives additional direction guidance encouragement as applicable; ensures work is meeting the overarching needs of the organization;

With the Senior Administrative Team (SAT)

Receives technical guidance and operational knowledge for the research studies in community and those working alongside the organization;

With Other Staff

Maintains lateral kindness professionalism respect cooperation and provides operational guidance for all staff in the area of communitybased research;

With External Agencies

Represents and promotes Six Nations interests relative to the organization; maintains awareness of legislative policy and program changes as applicable;

With the Public

Represents and promotes the organizations interests of the Six Nations community; works in a courteous cooperative positive and proactive manner to provide information when applicable.

IMPACT OF ERROR:

Errors in judgment and in the conduct of duties will lead to loss of credibility poor public relations confusion duplication of effort and misinformation being given to the Executive Director of Data Analytics & Insights the Chief Executive Officer the Six Nations Elected Council and the public.

CONTROL:

Guiding principles set by the Executive Director of Data Analytics & Insights and the Administrative policies and procedures established by the Six Nations Elected Council for the entire organization as well as being aware of other legislative standards (e.g. Privacy Confidentiality etc. provided by respective government agencies.
