The salary scale for NSCC Faculty is based on steps that range from $74170.79 $102223.12. New Faculty may receive up to a maximum of five steps for relevant occupational experience and may receive up to an additional four steps for fulltime equivalent years of instructional experience (instructional experience is defined as teaching postsecondary). The maximum a new Faculty can expect to receive is nine steps or $95478.45.

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:
The minimum educational qualification for this position is a relevant university degree in Sociology/Human Services or the Health and Human Services area. A diploma or certificate in Disability Supports and Services/Disability Support Professional will be considered an asset.
You have a minimum of five years (fulltime equivalent) of recent and related occupational experience related to a combination of community supports residential supports educational supports and/or vocational support integration and facilitation with individuals with disabilities.
You have knowledge/experience in disability supports services within Nova Scotia.
Current Mandt training certification would be considered an asset.
You have specific occupational knowledge and skills related to assistive technology nutrition and meal planning principles of learning and crisis support.
You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite and email. Experience using Proloquo2go and Boardmaker software will be considered an asset. Experience using a Learning Management System such as Brightspace will be considered an asset.

As a condition of employment Faculty at NSCC must complete a parttime adult education program delivered by NSCC. This adult education program is a significant investment on the part of NSCC in the learning and development of new employees. To achieve regular status all probationary full or parttime Faculty of the College must successfully complete the program within their probationary period. Term fulltime Faculty whose term appointment is twelve or more months are also required to participate in this program.
Candidates selected for interviews will be expected to provide at least three recent occupational references. The successful candidate will be expected to provide official transcripts to show proof of academic achievements.
