Job Description

Position Title: Production Specialist Plover Appetizers

Position Type: Regular FullTime

Position Summary:

The Production Specialistis a frontline employee responsible for ensuring good manufacturing practices are followed to safeguard the quality of the product so that our customer receive the highest quality possible. This person could have various tasks on our production lines from drilling filling and sorting to inspecting product and/ or packaging the product. The ideal candidate would be willing to work individually or as part of a team. Once this candidate learns the different aspects of the production line the candidate will have the opportunity to move into other roles such as Machine Operator or to other departments within McCain!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform various tasks that include but are not limited to drilling filling inspecting sorting and packaging of food products to meet quality specifications and quantity standards
  • Inspect all products raw and finished for use according to quality specifications and communicate any discrepancies to appropriate personnel
  • Perform sanitation on assigned equipment and work area
  • Backfill for operators. Duties include setting up equipment startup and shutdowns monitoring production and troubleshooting as needed and complete quality checks on assigned equipment and work areas
  • Make necessary adjustments to equipment to meet company standards and product specifications and communicate operational problems and equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel
  • Perform assignments in accordance with established food safety and quality policies including all USDA FDA and WDA guidelines procedures and work instructions
  • Maintain good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned work sites
  • Accurate and timely completion of required documentation
  • Perform sanitation duties including using chemicals setting up and tearing down equipment and inspecting equipment
  • Follow proper safety and GMP guidelines
  • Complete all other tasks assigned by line leader and supervisor

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions both written and oral as well as read and interpret schedules related to production/ product schedules and line changeovers.
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate in basic English and interact with all levels of the organization. Must be able to enter data into a computer.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift a minimum of 35 pounds.

Physical Demand:

Constant: use and movement of hands and standing on regularly scheduled shift.

Frequently: Bending grasping hands and reaching for up to 3 6 hours daily.

Occasionally: Walking bending at the waist squatting kneeling and twisting at the neck and waist pushing and pulling for up to 12 hours a day.
