Assists with the daily operations of the Fitness Center and the Weight Room to ensure safety standards during assigned shifts by supporting staff and assisting members.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist with clerical duties membership tracking inventory management and data collection.
Teach fitness classes and provide fitnessrelated guidance to members and students.
Assist members with fitness assessments goal setting and individualized exercise programs.
Staff the front desk handle membership inquiries phone correspondence and provide student support.
Monitor the Weight Room to ensure the safety and wellbeing of members.
Support instructors with equipment supplies and logistics.
Open and/or close the Fitness Center following established procedures.
Participate in and support campus wellness initiatives and events.
Conduct orientation for new members on the safe and proper use of all fitness equipment.
Maintain equipment for safety and cleanliness coordinating repairs when necessary.
Work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed.
Stay current with industry best practices through continuing education and certifications.
Perform other duties tasks and assignments as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
Associates degree required
Bachelors degree in fitnessrelated field preferred
1 year work experience in a fitness center environment including fitness assessment and exercise programming preferred; 2 years preferred
Licensing & Certification
Valid Texas Driver License
CPR and FirstAid Certification preferred; CPR and First Aid Certification training will be provided to all Fitness Center staff
National certification through ACSM NSCA ACE or AFFA preferred

General Office.
