Job Description
Weston is seeking to hire a Learning Assistant to provide academic social and behavioral support to students in collaboration with the classroom teachers at Country Elementary School. This is a longterm substitute role beginning February 24 2025 and continuing until at least March 11 2025. The role is scheduled for 7 hours per day 6.5 a 30 minute unpaid lunch) MondayFriday when school is in session reporting to the School Principal. About the Weston Public SchoolsThe Weston Public Schools enrolls approximately 2000 students in prekindergarten through grade 12. The school district includes a high school for grades 912 a middle school for grades 68 an upper elementary school for grades 45 and two lower elementary schools for prekindergarten through grade 3. Since 1967 Weston has participated in METCO (Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunity) a voluntary school integration program that places Boston residents in suburban schools. - Use appropriate applied behavior teaching communication and reinforcement techniques consistently
- Complete all required documentation and data collection
- Provide individual and small group instruction
- Assist the teacher in devising strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on an understanding individual student needs interests and abilities
- Other duties as assigned by the Building Principal
- Bachelors degree
- Teaching experience preferred ideally in a diverse public school setting
- Experience working with students with special needs behavior background preferred
- Competent with technology including Microsoft Office Google Suite and Zoom
The Longterm Substitute Learning Assistant will be paid between $26.39 $32.55 per hour depending on experience.
