Job Description

Internal Communications Business Partner

Full time / Part time

Salary:pa with potential for further progression to 70907 pa with our pay progression scheme.

Location: Hybrid

Contracted to our Wilmslow London Edinburgh Cardiff or Belfast office with flexible home and officebased working. Some attendance at the office or travel should be expected.

Job summary

Our Internal Communications team work to inform inspire and engage the whole ICO. The Business Partner role is central to this function with a strategic focus on engaging employees and communicating for impact.

Reporting to our head of department you will have responsibility ensuring our internal communications take the most effective engaging and creative approach to support objectives by generating and contributing to integrated communication plans overarching communications strategies and evaluating impact.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the development of effective communication plans processes and strategies.
  • Work collaboratively to provide specialist communications advice which supports and promotes strategic priorities and objectives.
  • Drive the effective delivery of communication strategies and plans.
  • Analysis of insight to inform communications objectives and evaluate strategies campaigns and plans to ensure the effectiveness of communications activities.
  • Commission communications activities from colleagues to ensure the delivery of strategies and plans.
  • Coordinate resources to support the delivery of strategies plans and processes including efficient budget management.
  • Proactively identify engagement opportunities to support objectives and priorities.
  • Deliver internal and external partnership working by fostering good working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Confidently present ideas communications strategies and plans internally.
  • Proactively continue your own professional development looking for opportunities and techniques to do things differently.

Person specification

Essential criteria assessed at application stage:

  • Experience relevant to the role responsibilities.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Solid digital skills proven ability to use and influence others to try new channels and tools.
  • Ability to take complex information and create clear communications including copy relevant to the audience.
  • Ability to create strategic campaign plans and processes.

Essential criteria assessed during interview:

  • Up to date knowledge of modern communication methodologies and government standards.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of research insight and evaluation.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisation planning and management skills.
  • Ability to participate in the 24 hour out of hours duty roster.
