Job Description
Location: Belgium

Role Overview:
As a Senior Consultant in Public Procurement you will play a key role in advising public sector clients on complex procurement challenges while ensuring compliance with local and European procurement regulations. Youll work within a multidisciplinary team to support clients in developing procurement strategies optimizing tender processes and navigating legal and regulatory frameworks. Your expertise will help public sector organizations achieve value for money transparency and efficiency in their procurement activities.
Requirements
- Tender Management: Lead and support public procurement processes including drafting tender documents managing bidder interactions and ensuring compliance with procurement laws.
- Regulatory Compliance: Advise clients on national and EU public procurement legislation ensuring all processes adhere to legal frameworks and minimize risk.
- Market Consultations: Conduct market analyses and consultations to help clients identify the best procurement options and supplier solutions.
- Contract Management and Negotiations: Assist in drafting and revising contracts and support clients during the negotiation phase to secure favorable terms.
- Client Advisory: Provide strategic advice on optimizing procurement practices enhancing transparency and improving public sector value.
- Project Management: Manage procurementrelated projects ensuring they are delivered on time within budget and to a high standard of quality.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison between public sector clients suppliers and other stakeholders facilitating smooth communication and collaboration.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct risk analyses and recommend mitigation strategies to address potential procurement challenges.
- Coaching and Mentoring: Support junior consultants in their professional development by sharing knowledge and best practices in public procurement.
- Procurement Strategy Development: Collaborate with public sector clients to design and implement effective procurement strategies that align with their organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 46 years of relevant experience in public procurement with a strong understanding of both Belgian and European procurement regulations.
- Sector Knowledge: Experience working with public sector organizations or government bodies with a clear understanding of public procurement processes and legal frameworks.
- Languages: Fluency in Dutch and/or French is mandatory; English proficiency is highly valued.
- Education: A Masters degree in Law Business Administration Public Policy or a related field.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to assess complex procurement situations to provide actionable insights.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders and present information clearly and effectively.
- Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage projects from inception to completion ensuring all milestones are met.
- Team Collaboration: Experience working in multidisciplinary teams with a collaborative and proactive approach
