Job Description
Cafeteria Assistant.
Position Summary:The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that food is prepared safely and efficiently and that the cafeteria environment is clean and wellmaintained.
Position Responsibilities
Food preparation serving meals maintaining cleanliness and assisting in the overall delivery of food services to students staff and visitors.
Assist in preparing cooking and assembling meals according to recipes and portion sizes.
Serve food to students staff and visitors ensuring correct portions and presentation.
Ensure all food is served at the correct temperature and stored properly after service.
Clean and sanitize cafeteria tables kitchen equipment and food preparation areas.
Wash dishes trays utensils and equipment used in food preparation and service.
Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the cafeteria and storage areas.
Greet cafeteria patrons answer questions about the menu and assist with special dietary needs or food allergies.
May require standing for long periods lifting trays and handling hot equipment.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in food service or a cafeteria setting is a plus.
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical ability to stand for long periods lift heavy items and perform cleaning tasks.
Able to comply with the dress codes and other regulations as required by the cafeteria rule (ex. No phones allowed no obscene tattoos no jewelry including piercings).
