About the Agency:

The Mission of the Virginia National Guard Commonwealth ChalleNGe Youth Academy is to intervene in the lives of 1618 year old teenagers by providing the values skills education and selfdiscipline needed to produce responsible productive citizens and to do so in a highly structured learning environment.

Purpose of Position:

Fiscal and Budget Management of the Virginia National Guard Youth Challenge Program.

Minimum Qualifications

Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and their application to fund accounting;

Ability to interpret financial and accounting reports;

Working knowledge and demonstrated ability to analyze research and reconcile financial data;

Demonstrated ability to apply and adapt established accounting methods to a variety of financial transactions and records;

Ability to prepare financial reports and statements;

Knowledge of state travel regulations and reimbursement allowances;

Working knowledge and ability to apply laws regulations and standards in a professional setting;

Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

Advanced experience using automated systems personal computers and software to include Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel and Word;

Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment;

Valid Drivers License with acceptable driving record required.

Additional Considerations

Federal/State Cooperative Agreement experience strongly preferred.
