Job Description

Job Title: Elementary Instructional Coach

Wage/Hour Status: Exempt
Reports to: Campus Principal

Date Revised: April 2025
Dept./School: Elementary Campus

Primary Purpose:

Provide instructional leadership coaching and professional development to classroom teachers to improve instructional practices increase student achievement and support teacher growth. Work collaboratively with teachers campus leaders and district staff to align curriculum instruction and assessment while building a datainformed and learnercentered instructional culture.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Bachelors degree from an accredited university (Masters degree preferred)

Valid Texas teaching certificate

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Strong knowledge of effective instructional strategies curriculum design and lesson planning

Skilled in instructional coaching and adult learning theory

Ability to analyze data and use results to inform instruction

Familiarity with RTI/MTSS frameworks and supports for special populations

Proficient in educational technology tools and platforms

Excellent organizational communication and interpersonal skills

Experience:

Minimum of three years of successful classroom teaching experience

Experience in instructional leadership mentoring or coaching preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Instructional Coaching and Teacher Development

  1. Provide individualized and group coaching to support effective teaching strategies classroom management and student engagement.
  2. Conduct classroom walkthroughs model lessons coteach and offer feedback aligned with best practices and district expectations.
  3. Support new and experienced teachers through mentoring onboarding assistance and facilitation of the campus mentor program.
    Lead reflection conversations promote professional growth and build a collaborative instructional culture through learning walks peer observations and celebrations of instructional success.

Curriculum Planning and Instructional Support

  1. Guide teachers in designing standardsaligned researchbased lesson plans and instructional resources.
  2. Ensure alignment with the district curriculum TEKS and assessment frameworks.
  3. Support instruction in all content areas including specials with a focus on purposeful and engaging lesson delivery.
  4. Collaborate with campus and district staff to promote backward planning curriculum coherence and vertical alignment.

DataDriven Practices and Intervention Support

  1. Facilitate analysis of student data to inform instruction identify learning gaps and drive targeted interventions.
  2. Support implementation of RTI/MTSS frameworks and coordinate campus intervention efforts including development of the WIN schedule.
  3. Assist in the use of assessment tools and data platforms to support instructional decisions and progress monitoring.
  4. Provide support for data collection reporting and analysis for the Campus Improvement Plan (CIP) Balanced Scorecard (BSC) and grantrelated requirements.

Professional Learning Technology Integration and TIA Support

  1. Design and deliver professional development aligned to campus and district goals.
  2. Promote effective use of instructional technology and provide support for digital platforms and tools.
  3. Lead PLCs and informal learning groups that foster collaboration data use and instructional alignment.
  4. Support teachers in understanding TTESS and TIA performance standards providing coaching to enhance effectiveness and potential for designation.
